The documentary movie Lil Wayne tried to have banned has been granted an official release.
The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., filed a lawsuit forfraud and breach of contract against film executives at Quincy Jones III's QD3 Entertainment in April (09), alleging they reneged on a deal to give the star final approval of the movie, titled The Carter, before its release.
Carter's representatives denounced the project as a "scandalous portrayal" of the MC and claimed it could ruin his reputation because it depictshim in a "negative light".

But the star's attempt to block the film's release failed - the judge overseeing the case ruled evidence used by Carter's attorney was not strong enough to justify the rapper's claims.
And now Carter faces a further blow - the 90-minute documentary is to be released on Dvd in the U.S. on 17 November (09).
The news comes in a long line of troubles for the rapper - he's currently awaiting sentencing on firearms charges after he pleaded guilty at a hearing in New York last month (Oct09).
He's also facing a copyright infringement lawsuit after a man accused the star, along with fellow rapper Birdman, of using his voice on a track without permission.
