Phillips Denies Prompting Chynna's Rehab Stint

Actress Mackenzie Phillips is adamant her shocking expose about her incestuous relationship with musician father John Phillips is not to blame for her half sister Chynna's anxiety issues.

The star shocked fans when she released her book High on Arrival last year (09), which revealed she had a decade long sexual relationship with her father, founder of The Mamas and the Papas, which began when he raped her on the night she wed Jeff Sessler.

After pledging her support for her sibling, Chynna Phillips entered rehab in February (10), staying for two weeks to deal with "anxiety" problems.

Upon leaving the unit, the singersongwriter filed for divorce from husband Billy Baldwin, only to withdraw the bid two days later.

Mackenzie Phillips insists the recent turmoil in her relative's life isnot down to her revelations - but admits her own behaviour has had "severe consequences" for some family members.

She tells Larry King, "I've been reading a lot about people who are sort of laying Chynna's hospitalisation at my feet. "I think that certainly there's been a lot of stress in this family since High on Arrival came out.

"But I can't say my revelations about my father put Chynna in rehab. I do know that my addiction has had severe consequences with (sic) my loved ones. Absolutely".
