Graham 'Suggs' McPherson's nerves were so bad before Madness took to the stage at the Olympics Closing Ceremony, he forgot the words to their hit track Our House.

The Olympics for me was more nerve-wracking because we were hanging around for a long time in a waiting hangar

The Baggy Trousers hitmakers joined acts including The Who, Muse, One Direction and the Pet Shop Boys in the line-up for the conclusion to the 2012 London Games in August.

The frontman admits he was more anxious about the band's Olympics performance than he was about their concert in June to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee - and his nerves almost got the better of him.

Speaking on Britain's The One Show, Suggs says, "The Olympics for me was more nerve-wracking because we were hanging around for a long time in a waiting hangar. One Direction were on a lorry next to us and then there were the Pet Shop Boys riding bicycles with traffic cones on their heads to the left, it was all getting a bit overwhelming. I had to say to (a bandmate) quickly, 'What's the first line of Our House?'

"I think pretty much (it was the most nervous I've been), it was in front of 75 trillion billion people!"
