Suggs Writes Stand-Up Show

Suggs is set to test his comedy skills by heading out ontour as a stand-up.

The British singer - real name Graham McPherson - was inspired to writea one-man show after trying to track down his father, who walked out on the family when Suggs was aged three.

He takes the production, titled Live Suggs! The Rambunctious Recollections of the Madness Frontman, out on the road in the U.K. later this month(May11), and he has promised fans he will include renditions of Madness hits and humorous anecdotes to lighten the dark subject matter.

The Baggy Trousers hitmaker tells Britain's Culture magazine, "Someone had been talking to me about doing a one-man show for six months or so, and... I couldn't really feel the point of it, you know?

"Just standing up and telling a load of anecdotes. "But maybe this journey I was going to go on, finding out about my dad,would be a useful way to be able to tell my life story - for me, as well as for an audience, I felt it had a purpose".
