Madonna back in the recording studio

Madonna has given fans an Independence Day treat by returning to the stufio to make a new album.

The international pop superstar put her career on hold last year as she wanted to concentrate on her clothing line, Material Girl with daughter Lordes and her directorial debut on the West Ends.

As those projects have now finished, it is back to what she does best.

Confirming the news on Twitter, Madonna's longtime business partner Guy Oseary writes: "It's official... Madonna's 1st day in the recording studio for the new album... Very exciting.. Happy 4th of july."
