Marc Anthony is throwing his support behind U.S. President Barack Obama's re-election campaign by hosting a fundraising concert in Florida next week (begs25Jun12).
The Grammy Award winner will take the stage at Fillmore's Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach on 26 June (12) in a bid to boost the politician's appeal among fellow Latin voters in the Southern state, which often plays one of the most crucial roles in general elections.
It isn't the first time Anthony has voiced his support for the Democratic leader - earlier this month (Jun12) he shot an online advert praising Obama's work since he first took office in 2009.
He said, "Hi my name is Marc Anthony. Latinos are a force that can and will help decide this election. And it's a good thing that we've got so much to say, right? We have jobs, the economy, education.
"President Obama is on our side on all of them. We just have to make sure that he gets four more years to make more progress. The president has our back. So it's time to let him know that you've got his".
The singer isn't the only celebrity to host a fundraiser for Obama in the lead-up to the election in November (12) - Sarah Jessica Parker and George Clooney have each toasted the leader at star-studded parties in recent months.
