Cannon Undergoes Kidney Surgery

Mariah Carey's ailing husband underwent surgery in Los Angeles on Friday (06Jan12) after suffering acute kidney failure during a winter break in Aspen, Colorado.

Actor and TV personality Nick Cannon was transferred from the winter playground to a hospital in Los Angeles earlier this week (beg02Jan12) so he could be closer to the home he shares with Carey and their twin babies.

Just hours after the singer told fans she was hoping her husband would be home by the start of next week (09Jan12), Cannon took to Twitter.com to reveal he had just come out of surgery.

He wrote, "Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure. Ouch".

However, Cannon is feeling optimistic following the surgery, adding, "Recovering... about to be stronger than ever".
