Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have escaped a minor car accident in Los Angeles unscathed.

The couple was being chauffeured around the city when the crash took place on Thursday afternoon (09Apr09).

But the singer has taken the accident in her stride, posting a lighthearted comment on social networking website Twitter.com to assure fans the couple is fine.

Carey writes, "So this is why I don't drive, or get up early. Just got into a little car accident in LA... but we're all ok. Neither of us were driving."
