Damon's Dad Has Cancer

Actor Matt Damon has gone public with the devastating news his father hasbeen diagnosed with cancer.

Kent Damon is battling multiple myeloma and the Bourne star revealed all about his father's health crisis during a benefit for Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday (01Jun11).

He told a local TV news crew the 68 year old will fight his cancer "to a standstill. Father and son were taking part in the One Hundred Celebration at the Westin Hotel in Boston, where the actor thanked the medical staff at the hospital for their help. He said, "My family is so grateful for the care you've given us". Damon also revealed he is still coming to terms with the fact his dad has been hit with cancer "We've lost some close personal friends to cancer in recent years, but I never thought it would happen to my dad,the marathon runner".
