Etheridge Honoured With Hollywood Star

The singer has been rewarded a Walk of Fame star

Singer Melissa Etheridge unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday as part of a month-long cancer awareness campaign.

The rocker was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and underwent chemotherapy and surgery in a bid to beat the illness. She declared herself cancer-free the following year.

She has since helped raise awareness about the disease and is a longtime artist/ambassador for Hard Rock's Pinktober campaign.

To mark the launch of this year's Pinktober, held every October to raise money and breast cancer awareness, Etheridge was honoured with the 2,450th Walk of Fame star, situated in front of the new Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood.

The singer was joined by her mother and two of her children, Bailey and Beckett, as she received the pavement plaque.
