Bosses of Michael Jackson's record label are stalling on plans to release the late icon's most recent recordings - because they don't want to "cash in" on his fans' grief.

Emi president Amanda Ghost has spoken out about rumoured plans for the superstar's latest tunes to be fast-tracked into stores following his untimely demise last month (25Jun09).

It is believed Jackson, who had been in the studio with will.i.am and Akon before he died, has hundreds of previously unheard songs waiting for release.

We haven't made any decisions because we just want to be respectful forhis memory and not be seen in any way as trying to cash in

And Ghost confirms there is a huge backlog of recordings made by the Thriller star in the years following his last studio album, Invincible, in 2001 but insists EMI does not want to jump on the "bandwagon" by making quick cash from his death.

She tells BBC 6 Music, "We just want to pay our respects to Michael. Wedon't want to be seen to be jumping on any bandwagon associated with his death. "I have no idea when it's coming out, but it will come out on SonyEpic.

We haven't made any decisions because we just want to be respectful forhis memory and not be seen in any way as trying to cash in". Sales of the tragic singer's records have soared since his tragic passing, with many of the star's greatest hits making up the top ten countdownin the U.K. and the U.S.
