Janet Jackson's Pride At Paris' Speech

Michael Jackson's sister Janet was overwhelmed with pride when the late star's 11-year-old daughter Paris stepped up to speak at his memorial service - calling the youngster "incredibly smart" and "sweet".

Jackson's family, friends and fans all gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles shortly after his tragic death in June (09) to pay tribute to the late King of Pop and mourn his passing.

The star-studded affair was attended by the singer's three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, aka Blanket.

When the family took to the stage at the end of the service, Paris tookthe mic to tell the crowd of her love for her late father and was subsequently embraced by Janet, sobbing in her aunt's arms.

Janet admits the scene was one of the most emotional of her life - and has praised Paris for having the bravery to speak out about her daddy.

She tells Harper's Bazaar magazine, "I was really proud. People said tome that Michael's daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She's a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They're with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going".
