Jackson's Parents Fight Over Executors in Court

Michael Jackson's mother is standing by the appointment of the King of Pop's estate executors after her husband filed suit against the administrators, alleging the singer's will is a fake.

The pop superstar, who died in June (09), signed his final will in Los Angeles in 2002, leaving his estate in the hands of John Branca and John McClain.

The validity of the document has been called into question by members of the singer's family, after it emerged Jackson was in New York on the date he is said to have put pen to paper in California.

Branca and McClain insisted the witnesses of the will could testify Jackson signed the paperwork himself, but Joe Jackson is not convinced and he is taking legal action to have the pair disqualified.

The executors' lawyer, Howard Weitzman, dismissed the Jackson family patriarch's accusations, telling Tmz.com "These claims filed by Joe Jackson are so outrageous that they don't deserve any response. John Branca andJohn McClain, who were designated by Michael Jackson in his will as executors of his estate, will continue carrying out Michael's wishes for the benefit of his mother, his children and charities".

The Thriller star's mother Katherine Jackson has now waded into the dispute and publicly declared her support for Branca and McClain, reports Tmz.com.

Her lawyer Adam Streisand appeared in a California court on Tuesday (10Nov09), insisting Katherine had no issues with the executors of the singer's estate.

Streisand also argued Joe has no legal standing to object to the validity of the will or to the estate executors, because he was excluded from the list of beneficiaries.

The hearing continues.
