Jagger Backs 'Save 100 Club' Campaign

Mick Jagger is backing a campaign to save London's iconic 100 Club from closure.
The Rolling Stones performed at the club in the 1980s and Jagger was saddened to learn the tiny underground venue is set to shut its doors for the last time at the end of the year (10) - because of increased running costs and rent.
He tells London's Evening Standard, "This is really bad news if another great venue is threatened with closure. "There's a real need for these places - they have a connection with the past.
And what is important is that you have places where bands can cut their teeth and places of a certain intimacy and size, that new bands canexperiment in.
There aren't that many great places in London, or indeed any city, that you can say that about". Jagger's Stones bandmate Ronnie Wood is reported to be taking to the club's stage in December (10) as part of a benefit to save the fabled venue.
