Mike Skinner is relishing his new role as a record producer after confessing he ran out of ideas as frontman of the Streets.
The British star bowed out with his band last year (11) with a final album and farewell tour, nine years after shooting to fame with his debut album Original Pirate Material.
Within weeks, he announced he was back in the studio working on new tracks with former The Music rocker Robert Harvey, but this time he's stepped behind the mixing desk to engineer the recordings - and he's adamant heprefers life as a producer.
In a new film clip posted online, Skinner says, "Believe it or not, I never wanted to be a lyricist or a performer.
"The reason I got into this was to be a producer. With The Streets, it's more... I guess I just kind of ran out of ideas really".
