Meldrum's Family Will Celebrate His 66Th Birthday

Molly Meldrum's family members are determined to celebrate the Australianmusic mogul's upcoming 66th birthday as he recovers from a serious accident.

The veteran record executive is currently undergoing treatment in a rehabilitation center as he battles to recover from a fall at his home before Christmas (11).

He was placed in an induced coma and underwent several operations to treat a fractured skull, a broken collar bone, a punctured lung and extensive breaks and fractures to his ribcage.

Meldrum received a boost earlier this week (begs23Jan12) when he was honored with a Rolling Stone Award for his contribution to music, and his relatives want to raise his spirits further by throwing him a birthday bash on Sunday (29Jan12).

His brother Brian tells the Sydney Herald Sun, "We will be celebrating that he is here to have a birthday because that fall was very close to being fatal".
