Morrissey Scraps London Gig

Former The Smiths frontman Morrissey has fuelled further speculation about his health - by cancelling the London date on his world tour.

The British singer's current jaunt was initially thrown into jeopardy in February (09) when he scrapped the first five U.S. dates of the tour, after falling ill with a mystery ailment which affected his voice.

Another two dates were cancelled before the tour moved to Europe - and now the star's run in the U.K. has come to a halt with Monday's (11:May:09)concert at London's Royal Albert Hall axed hours before showtime.

Event organisers would like to apologise to his fans for the disappointment but he is unableto perform and on doctor's orders has been told to rest

A source tells FemaleFirst subsequent planned U.K. shows in Birmingham and Great Yarmouth later this week (13 and 15:May:09) are also in doubt.

A statement from gig promoters SJM Concerts reads, "Event organisers would like to apologise to his fans for the disappointment but he is unableto perform and on doctor's orders has been told to rest".
