New Campaign to Knight Jimmy Page

Jimmy Page's name has been put forward for a new campaign to secure a knighthood.

Northamptonshire MP Louise Mensch, married to Muse and Metallica manager Peter Mensch, has officially put forward the The Led Zeppelin guitarist's great name for the Queen's upcoming Honours list.

She tweeted: "Waiting to see if that finds favour with Honours Directorate. I hope so.

"Clearly there is nobody more worthy of a knighthood and I am glad to say I have gathered support from every major record label in the UK."

Page, who was managed by Mensch's husband, was awarded an OBE in 2005.
