Nick Cannon has bought his wife a terrier as a birthday gift.

The pop superstar turned 39 last week (27Mar09) and her husband of almost a year boasted he'd bought her a bald eagle for her birthday.

But it seems he had already decided on another creature comfort gift - a pooch called Cha-Cha.

I got her a short-haired Jack Russell terrier... She's eight weeks (old)

Cannon tells UsMagazine.com, "I got her a short-haired Jack Russell terrier... She's eight weeks (old)".

And the couple might be planning another new addition to the family - reports suggest Carey is planning to build an all-pink nursery in her new Los Angeles home.

Carey wed Cannon at her Bahamas home in Eleuthera last spring (Apr08).

The couple is planning to celebrate their first anniversary in Barbados, according to Cannon.
