No Doubt halt New York
Reunited rockers No Doubt brought New York to a standstill on Friday (01 May 09) when they performed their first come-back show for hundreds of fans at a free outdoor concert.
The group, led by Gwen Stefani, marked their first live appearance since reforming after a five-year hiatus by kicking off a TV concert series on U.S. morning show Today.
It's my fault. I was in baby mode. I just needed to get out there... It's not quite as fun until you get with these guysGwen Stefani
Loyal fans showed up in their droves at Manhattan's Rockefeller Plaza, where Stefani belted out the band's 1990s hits including Spiderwebs and Don't Speak.
And the blonde mum-of-two made sure to thank their followers in betweensets - insisting she's ready to return to her punk rock roots since taking a break to focus on her solo career and family life.
Stefani told the crowd "It's my fault. I was in baby mode. I just needed to get out there... It's not quite as fun until you get with these guys".
