Gallagher Drafts Extra Security for Stage

Noel Gallagher is taking no chances with concert security following his onstage attack last year (08) - the rocker has reportedly recruited former British Army officers to guard Oasis.

The guitarist was hospitalized with three broken ribs after a man ran onstage and shoved him into monitor speakers in the middle of a gig in Toronto, Canada in September (08).

So he told Liam and the others that he wanted extra security

The band was subsequently forced to prematurely end their North American tour.

And now Gallagher is ensuring a similar situation doesn't occur again, by stepping up his security team with ex-Special Air Service (Sas) officers trained for warfare.

A source tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "Noel was seriously shook up after he was attacked. It was a freak moment when someone burst through and managed to get on stage. But he wanted to make sure he never had to go through that again.

"There was a time when he was genuinely scared of getting back out there and performing... So he told Liam and the others that he wanted extra security. And, of course, they agreed - after all, it could have been any of them.

"When he heard that a couple of the lads brought in to try out as security were ex-Sas, he knew he was in safe hands".

Gallagher's attacker, Daniel Sullivan, was charged with aggravated assault in a Canada court in January (09).
