Ocean Colour Scene return To Form With New Live Album. 20.09.04 On Sanctuary Records Proclaimed by NOEL GALLAGHER as “the best band in Britain”, and publicly praised by PAUL WELLER for “keeping the flame of real rock and roll alive and burning.” OCEAN COLOUR SCENE return to their startling form with the forthcoming release of their latest live album “One For The Road” which is due for release on 20th September 2004 on Sanctuary Records. The live album encapsulates Ocean Colour Scene at their very best with stunning live performances captured from this year’s festivals and summer concerts at Oxygen, T In The Park and Keighley Victoria Hall. “One For The Road” will also preview two brand new tracks “I Love You” and “This Day Should Last Forever” from the bands eagerly awaited studio album tentatively titled “The Hyperactive Workout For The Flying Squad” due for release in February 2005. The 19 track live album is Ocean Colour Scene’s first offering since bassist Damon Minchella left the band and follows on from their previous album North Atlantic Drift.

Guitarist Andy Bennett and bassist Dan Sealey complete the new line up of Ocean Colour Scene as a five piece. The new line up is now Simon Fowler (Vocals) Steve Cradock (Guitar) Oscar Harrison (Drums) Andy Bennett (Guitars) and Dan Seeley (Bass)

The soundtrack for the live album includes some of their biggest hits and celebrated work including the RIVERBOAT SONG, THE CIRCLE, GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, I JUST NEED MYSELF, NORTH ATLANTIC DRIFT, FOXY FOLK FACE, TRAVELLERS TUNE, PROFIT IN PEACE, ONE FOR THE ROAD, HUNDRED MILE HIGH CITY and THE DAY WE CAUGHT THE TRAIN.

To coincide with the release of the bands live album, Ocean Colour Scene will also be performing at the Sheffield Leadmill (08.09.04) Oxford Zodiac 09.09.04) Shepherds Bush Empire (10.09.04) Glasgow Barrowlands (12.09.04) and at the Dublin Ambassador (13.09.04)

The multi platinum selling Ocean Colour Scene have achieved both rock and roll notoriety and a cult celebrity following for their music and live performance with the likes of Oasis’ Liam and Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, U2’s The Edge, Jack Irons (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Primal Scream, supermodel Kate Moss and Hollywood actor Johhny Depp.

Widely regarded by their peers as gifted songwriters and accomplished musicians, Ocean Colour Scene have set the standard and benchmark for crafting quality songs that are heartfelt, emotive and inspiring.

Their live performances, for which this album pays homage, are truly spectacular and have been honed from years of intensive gigging. Lead singer Simon Fowler sums up their passion for live music, the live performance is an amazing experience, the adrenalin and the rush from performing in front of a crowd is incredible.

Testament to Ocean Colour Scene’s stunning live performances were witnessed at this years Glastonbury festival where the band played to a mobbed acoustic tent of 7000 people becoming one of the Glastonbury highlights and their amazing festival performances at Oxygen in Ireland and T In The Park in Scotland!
