Badgley Eyes Music Career

Actor Penn Badgley dreams of following in the footsteps of his Gossip Girl co-stars Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen and making the transition into the music world.

The star reveals he has already started writing his own songs and wouldlove to show off his musical talents on the stage - although he doesn't like the idea of being the center of attention.

But he insists his work would have a more classical sound, compared to Meester and Momsen's poprock songs.

He tells America's InStyle magazine, "My dream is to play live shows with a small orchestra - strings, horns, an organ. I'd play keyboards and guitar and sing. But I wouldn't be the frontman".

Badgley already has one fan of his music - his Gossip Girl co-star and real life girlfriend Blake Lively, who served as his muse for one particular song.

He says, "The best gift I've ever given was a song I wrote... She seemed to like it".
