Perry Sells Dress For Charity

The singer has raised of £5,000 for Red Cross.

Katy Perry has raised more than $8,000 (£5,000) for charity by selling off a stage outfit from her 2011 California Dreams world tour.

The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker raided her closet for international aid organisation Red Cross and offered up a glittery red bodice encrusted with Swarovski crystals teamed with a billowing pink skirt for auction.

She also agreed to meet the winning bidder backstage at her gig in Oakland, California later this month to personally hand over the outfit.

The lot generated several bids and when the sale closed on Wednesday, the winning offer stood at $8,100 (£5,062).
