People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) officials will consider fast-tracking Take That star Gary Barlow to the top of their annual Sexiest Vegetarian celebrity list - if he keeps up his meat-free diet.
The singersongwriter has revealed he has given up meat for a month as part of a health kick and PETA bosses are hoping he finds his new diet sorewarding he sticks to it - and they'll honour him if he does.
A spokesperson for PETA tells Wenn, "If he continues to follow a vegetarian diet, we think he'd be a good contender for PETA UK's Sexiest Vegetarian contest. After all, there's nothing sexier than a guy who chooses a humane diet over one that hurts animals. "We hope that after Gary experiences some of the many health benefits associated with a vegetarian diet - including increased energy and being less prone to heart disease, cancer, and diabetes than meat eaters - he'lldecide to make the change permanent and join a growing number of other public figures, like Carrie Underwood, Russell Brand and Natalie Portman, who have opted to think before they eat and forgo meat.
"If Gary is still a vegetarian in June 2012, he'll definitely be up forthe title. Of course, he'll face stiff competition from PETA U.K.'s reigning Sexiest Vegetarian, The Wanted's Jay McGuiness".
