British singer Pete Doherty has been banned from driving for a year afterhe allowed his manager to use his car without insurance.
Andrew Boyd was jailed for 12 months for dangerous driving last month (Feb10) for running down 42-year-old Chris Corder in Suffolk, England while at the wheel of Doherty's plush Daimler.
Corder has been in a coma since the accident in September (09).
Boyd pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop at an accident scene, and driving without a license or insurance at Ipswich Crown Court in January (10).
The court heard he had borrowed Doherty's Daimler on the day of the incident - and the rocker has now been hit with a one-year ban and a $750 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of allowing his car to be driven by an uninsured motorist.
His lawyer, Bruce Clark, said Doherty believed Boyd had the correct documentation when he loaned him the vehicle.
Doherty was given an 18-month driving ban and a $3,075 fine in December(09) for careless driving and drink-driving.
The two bans will run concurrently, meaning he will be unable to re-apply for his license until June2011.
