Pete Wentz owes his life to U.S. vice president elect Joe Biden - because his parents met while working for the Democrat.
Biden's running mate Barack Obama was chosen as the country's new leader on Tuesday.
The Fall Out Boy bassist admits his family have always been supporters of the Democrat Party - crediting Biden's political career with bringing together Dale and Pete Wentz Sr.
He says, "I would not be standing here actually in reality, at all, because my parents met working for Biden.
"They met on a campaign so they have this particular affection for Joe - he came to their wedding. If it weren't for Joe Biden, I would not exist as a human being."
