Separated Shoulder Forces Pink Off the Trapeze

Pop star Pink has quit the trapeze act she performed at the Mtv Video Music Awards - because she could only perform it on painkillers.

The So What singer has revealed she separated her shoulder the night before the start of her U.S. tour and the high-flying number was just too much for her.

She explains, "It took everything in me to get through those shows. I was in so much pain... It was the first time I ever took a pain pill onstage".

Pink almost braved the pain one last time for her hometown show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - but was advised to keep her feet on the ground.

She tells Women's Health magazine, "I wanted to do the trapeze routine so badly, but I just couldn't. I know my body. "The last thing I want is for two, five, 10 years from now, not to be able to pick up my child because I was stubborn". Performing the routine at the Mtv VMAs was enough for her "I did it ontelevision.

I proved to myself that I could do it in the first place".
