Primal Scream annoyed at X Factor for using their hit

Primal Scream have criticised the producers of The X Factor for featuring one of their songs on the show without asking permission.

The band's 1994 single Rocks was performed by one of the contestants on the hit talent show on Saturday, but the musicians are adamant they did not 'endorse' the track's use.

The band tweeted: "Sorry to hear Rocks was used on X Factor. We don't endorse this... We weren't happy about the use of Rocks."

The band previously complained that the song was played at the Conservative Party's annual conference earlier in the monrh, but they were left red-faced when it emerged that the track heard at the event was actually Bohemian Like You by The Dandy Warhols.
