The urban music magazine launched by superproducer Quincy Jones has been saved from closure.
The editor of Vibe, Danyel Smith, announced in June (09) that the publication had ceased production following a dramatic fall in sales.
Jones vowed to buy back the magazine, which he founded in 1993, and relaunch it as an online venture.
But the publishing company behind Uptown magazine has now saved Vibe from closure.
It will be relaunched later this year (09) and will hit news stands every three months.
