Stevens Mugged for Engagement Ring

British pop star Rachel Stevens has been left terrified after she was held up on her own doorstep by thieves who demanded her engagement ring.

The former S Club 7 singer was making her way into her North London home on Tuesday (09Jun09) when a trio of thugs surrounded her and forced herto remove the diamond ring given to her by actor fiance Alex Bourne.

She was also forced to hand over a necklace and a Rolex watch, before the gang escaped the scene of the crime in a car.

The suspects are understood to have threatened her before making off with a quantity of jewellery

Stevens' publicist says, "Rachel did experience an intrusion and is shaken but otherwise OK".

A representative for Scotland Yard confirmed the incident "It's believed the woman returned to her flat and was followed in to the premises by three males. "The suspects are understood to have threatened her before making off with a quantity of jewellery". Stevens and Bourne are preparing to marry this summer (09).
