RICHARD ASHCROFT DRAWS ON BEATLES FOR INSPIRATION Former THE VERVE frontman RICHARD ASHCROFT is drawing on the music of THE BEATLES while recording his new album in a bid to reestablish his place in the music industry. The DRUGS DON'T WORK singer, whose new album KEYS TO THE WORLD is released in January (06), insists it's time for British music to look at life as the Liverpool hitmakers did. He says, "What I like about great records, like REVOLVER, is when you analyse them, they actually go to a lot of different places. "It was that period where they wrote about English life with a bit of (BOB) DYLAN sardonic twist, and I think we need that now - I think that's what I need to do now. "I need to stake my claim again."In other music related newsWONDER HAILS JAY-Z AND BEYONCE
