It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for, Rihanna has announced plans to testify against her ex boyfriend Chris Brown as a witness in the assault case against him.
Donald Etra has revealed that prosecutors will order the star to appear at the 22 June hearing, which will then determine whether or not there is enough evidence to go to trial with the case.
Chris Brown stands accused of assault and making criminal threats in March after a row with his girlfriend, however the pop star has pleaded not guilty to the charges. What’s more, Rihanna has been unwilling to get further embroiled in the row and has kept a dignified silence. Until now.
The hearing will be Rihanna’s first court appearance since the charges were filed back around the February attack, and if she is called to testify in the trial, she will also be put under cross-examination by Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos.
Things don’t look too good for Chris Brown though, as the case seems to be hanging by a thread on whether or not Geragos can discredit the Los Angeles police force, which he says purposely leaked a photograph of Rihanna covered in bruises to gossip website TMZ.
