Rihanna is ending a tumultuous 2009 on a high - she's been named Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year.
The Bajan beauty is bouncing back from her personal turmoil at the start of the year when she was beaten up by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February.
She took some time out of the limelight to recover from the brutal attack, which landed Brown a five year probation sentence and community service, but is now preparing to make her chart return with the release of her album Rated R.
Now Rihanna's pop comeback will be topped with the Glamour honour, which will be presented to the singer during an awards ceremony next Monday at New York's Carnegie Hall.
