A source tells Britain's Mail On Sunday, "Rod wants to move back to theU.K. so Alastair can get the best education. He and Penny both think it's a safer place to bring up kids and don't want Alastair going off the rails, which can happen in L.A." "L.A. is a party town and Rod's seen the effects it can have on children first hand. He and Penny are really keen for Alastair to be educated and brought up in Britain".

A spokesperson for the star confirms, "When Alastair is older and it's more important for him to settle in one school for exams etc, their wishes would be for a school in the U.K."
