Rod Stewart banishes his elder children to a guest house when he visits his Los Angeles home - so he can enjoy time with wife Penny Lancaster and their son Alistair.
Stewart and his model wife live in Essex, England most of the year, but often visit their Hollywood home so the singer can catch up with his elder offspring - Kimberly, 29, Sean, 28 and 21 year old Ruby.
But when the Maggie May hitmaker is in town, the children pack up theirbags and head out of the main house to make their dad's stay more enjoyable.
Sean tells Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper, "I can't complain at all this, can I? It's a nice guest house. And while I know some people won't understand Dad putting us older kids out here while he's in the main house, to us it makes sense.

"He and Penny have their own family now and the big house is very much their home. When they are in town, they want their privacy. It's no big deal.

He wants her to feel the main house is their family home when theyare in LA. And who wants their kids from previous relationships living on top of them when they are with their new family?
"When he is coming back to town, we other kids get a call, normally from his assistant, telling us, 'Dad is in town, clear the big house'. That-s just how it works. We go over there for movie nights and for meals.
