Rupert Everett better steady himself for a shed load of backlash after dubbing Michael Jackson as a "freak" who resembled a cartoon character.

The actor told The Mirror that he thought the King Of Pop would never have survived his 50-date O2 residency  and said; "I think it was fortuitous that he died, he was supposed to be doing 50 concerts in London. It wouldn't have mattered how good or bad he was. He wouldn't have managed to do them all and the press would have destroyed him."

Although the pop superstar was cleared of ten counts of child molestation back in 2005, the tag stayed with Jacko throughout his life, as well as in death, and Everett insisted that he never recovered from the ordeal.

"He was a freak. He looked like a character from Shrek. He was a black to white minstrel. He was crucified by that court case when he was accused of child molestation - that killed him," he said. "He personified the pain anxiety of a black man in a slave country. We all watched as he changed from black to white. He was living performance art."

What do you think, will you remember Michael as a ‘freak’ or musical genius?

All I remember about Rupert is a bad movie with Madonna and I don't remember the name of that movie. It does not make him look good to have strong opinions about someone as big as the deceased MJ.
