Phillippe's Rap Pal Wax Signs to Def Jam

Ryan Phillippe's rapper pal Wax has landed his big break after scoring a deal to join artists like RIHANNA, Kanye West and NE-YO at Def Jam Records.

The Crash star has been championing Wax's music for years and now the artist can show hip-hop fans his talents when he releases his upcoming debut via a joint agreement between Def Jam and his own Scrublife imprint.

Phillippe namechecked his friend during an appearance on U.S. talk showJimmy Kimmel Live! this week (begs14Mar11), telling the presenter "He'sincredible... The kids have met him and the unfortunate thing is they really love Wax, but they can't listen to any of Wax's songs".
