The artist who designed the cover of Shakira's album She Wolf has filed suit against the pop star's label Sony - alleging the company owes him $64,000 (£40,000).
Art director Lee Swillingham signed a $63,000 (£39,375) contract with the company last spring (09) for his services and was paid half the sum up front, reports the New York Post.
According to court documents, he earned $5,000 (£3,125) a day for extra work, totalling an additional $36,000 (£22,500).
The contract included a clause stating Sony owes nothing if the record label isn't pleased with the final project.
Swillingham's lawyer, Sam Israel, has accused the company of falsely claiming it didn't find the work satisfactory while using the images Swillingham created for the album.
A Sony spokesperson had not responded to requests for a comment as FemaleFirst went to press.
