Shania Twain's alleged stalker denied bail

Shania Twain's alleged stalker has been denied bail as he awaits sentencing next month.

Former doctor Gionvanni Palumbo allegedly sent the singer a series of letters and made unwanted visits to her home, even attended her grandmother's funeral.

He was arrested at an awards show earlier in the year and pleaded guilty to harrassment charges last month after Twain openly stated her fear and anxiety over the situation on a live video link.

On Wednesday a judge shut down the defendant's plea to be freed as he failed to offer a suitable release plan.

He faces charges for failure to comply with the court and criminal harrassment in November.
