Sharon Osbourne has only just discovered how to type and send messages onher cell phone - after daughter Kelly insisted she learn so they could keep in touch.

The rock matriarch has a very close relationship with her singer daughter and they speak several times a day.

But, with Kelly currently participating on U.S. reality show Dancing With The Stars and Sharon working in London, they're finding the time difference difficult to fit in their daily chats - so the Osbourne mum has finally learned how to text.

I speak to my mum about 20 times a day

Kelly Osbourne tells Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine, "I speak to my mum about 20 times a day. I find any excuse to call her as I just like talking to her. "She's in London right now and, because of the time difference, I speakto her less.

I keep waking her up, which makes me feel guilty.

She's recently discovered the art of texting, which makes life easier.

I trust my mum's word over anyone else's.

We're very close".
