Elton John to Speak At Science Conference

Sir Elton John will serve as the keynote speaker at an unlikely gig - a forthcoming convention of international scientists.The Rocket Man singer will address 20,000 people at the Biotechnology Industry Organisation (Bio)'s annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia in May (09).

For many years we have been deeply impressed by Sir Elton's commitment to the fight against Aids and his efforts to raise money for charitable organisations since the mid-1980s

The star will discuss the importance of Aids prevention, a cause his charity, the Elton John Aids Foundation, aims to boost. Bio chairperson James C. Greenwood says, "For many years we have been deeply impressed by Sir Elton's commitment to the fight against Aids and his efforts to raise money for charitable organisations since the mid-1980s. We share a common vision and we are honoured to have him."
