Skunk Anansie

Skunk Anansie

Skunk Anansie has reformed, inspired by desperate fans and a talking dog.

The band split eight years ago, but have reunited to promote a new greatest hits album, Smashes and Trashes, which will be released on 14 September.

Bassist Cass claims he was compelled to re-team with frontwoman Skin by his persistent talking pooch, telling the BBC, "My Dog. He kept telling me (to reunite Skunk Anansie) and I had to persuade these people that I wasn't mad."

Skin insists the band's die-hard fans convinced her to come back, adding, "They've been on our case for years for us to do this."

The band will tour to promote the album this autumn, before hitting the studio to record new material.
