Sonique's Cancer Spreads

British singer-turned-Dj Sonique's breast cancer has spread.

As you would imagine she was very distressed. The surgeon doesn't feel he got all the cancer out. She is bearing up very well but yesterday was a difficult day when she heard the news.

The former S'Express vocalist, who had a number one in the U.K. and U.S. with It Feels So Good in 2000, was diagnosed with the disease last week (09Jun09).

She underwent surgery to remove a lump from her breast at a hospital in London's Harley Street on Monday (15Jun09) - but was later told the devastating news that the disease has spread.

According to Sky News, doctors have confirmed the disease has now spread to lymph nodes under her arms, and possibly to her organs.

Sonique was undergoing further surgery on Friday (20Jun09).

Her agent Cath MacKenzie says, "As you would imagine she was very distressed. The surgeon doesn't feel he got all the cancer out. She is bearing up very well but yesterday was a difficult day when she heard the news."
