Chemotherapy for DJ Sonique

British singer-turned-Dj Sonique is facing five months of gruelling chemotherapy to rid her body of cancer.

The former S'Express star underwent two operations last week (begs 15Jun09) after doctors diagnosed the illness earlier this month.

And although the surgery was successful in removing the cancerous tumours from one ofher breasts, she must now endure a course of chemotherapy before she gets the all-clear.

She's comfortable and the second operation was successful. She's very tired but considering what she's been through she's in quite good spirits

A spokesman for the dance star, who had a number one hit in the U.K. and U.S. with It Feels So Good in 2000, says "She's comfortable and the second operation was successful. She's very tired but considering what she's been through she's in quite good spirits".

The DJ - real name Sonia Clarke - was due to release new single, World Of Change, next month (Jul09) but the disc has now been delayed.
