May Joins Chisholm for Charity Queen Tribute

Former Spice Girls singer Melanie Chisholm channelled her inner Freddie Mercury on Tuesday night (13Sep11) when she teamed up with Queen rocker Brian May to perform two of the band's classic hits.

Chisholm and the veteran guitarist took to the stage in London's West End at the close of Queen-themed musical We Will Rock You to thrill the audience with renditions of the show's title track and We Are The Champions.

The Wannabe hitmaker announced her planned theatre cameo last month (Aug11) but she kept details of May's involvement under wraps until showtime.

The charity performance was part of the BBC's Children in Need Pop GoesThe Musical fundraiser.

Other stars lined up for West End cameos includeBritish girl group the Sugababes and Australian singer Peter Andre.
