Wonder Mislays Earpieces At Hall of Fame Gig

Stevie Wonder's celebratory set as he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at New York's Apollo Theater on Monday night (13Jun11) was disrupted when the soul legend lost his in-ear monitors.

The Isn't She Lovely? hitmaker was honored at the Apollo's spring gala event, with veteran crooner Tony Bennett on hand to present Wonder with a special award before he took to the stage to perform a selection of his greatest hits.

But the blind singer made his star-studded audience - which included Robert De Niro and Gabourey Sidibe - wait for his performance, as he had mislaid his earpieces, according to the New York Daily News.

The 61 year old hunted for the lost gadgets before a stagehand emerged to help the star look for them and they were eventually discovered tucked into the singer's waistband.

Wonder then quipped to the crowd, "They were stuck in my booty".
