Stewart Worried Over Album Releases

Rocker Rod Stewart has expressed his fears of releasing his Great American Songbook albums because he feels a “Traitor” to his traditional roots.

He released the first of the records in 2002 and has since brought out four other volumes of him singing cover versions of songs.

He told This Morning: “It was a labour of love. I actually felt like a rock 'n' roll traitor. What are my fans going to think of this - doing the standards? But they accepted it.”
