New Boyz Scrap Concert After Crowd Trouble

Rappers The New Boyz had to cut short a concert in Michigan on Sunday (08Nov09) after overzealous fans attacked the duo onstage during a mini-riot.

The You're A Jerk stars were expected to play a free set for 300 fans at the Genesee Valley Center in Flint, but promoters were caught off guardwhen more than 1,500 devotees turned up for the show, resulting in hundreds being refused entry.

They were grabbing on the singers and wouldn't let them go (sic)

Tensions grew and a group of lusty girls took advantage of the chaos, trying to grab hold of teenagers Ben J and Legacy.

One witness tells The Flint Journal, "Fights broke out. They were grabbing on the singers and wouldn't let them go (sic)".

The New Boyz vacated the stage as police were brought in to control theunruly fans, but a second attempt to please their devotees also ended indisaster.

Another source says, "About half the crowd chased them down the hallway. They were going to come back and sign autographs and then another fightbroke out right in front of the stage".

The rap duo performed just one song before the whole event was shut down by local cops.
