The Police Brand Tour 'Unbelievably Lame'.... The Police drummer Stewart Copeland has branded the band's comeback tour as "unbelievably lame".The group, who reformed earlier this year (07) for a series of 30th anniversary gigs, officially began their world tour at the General Motors Place in Vancouver, Canada on Wednesday (30May07) night - but the musician wasn't impressed by his bandmates' performances. He admits the concert was riddled with errors; he played a song at the wrong time, causing "the big pompous opening to the show is a damp squib".In a review of the band's comeback tour, he writes, "This is unbelievably lame. We are the mighty Police and we are totally at sea."The mighty Sting momentarily looks like a petulant pansy instead of the God of rock. And so it goes, for song after song. It usually takes about four or five shows in a tour before you get to the disaster gig. But we're The Police so we are a little ahead of schedule."But Copeland admits the band laughed about the disastrous gig, saying, "It's only music. What are you gonna do? But maybe it's time to get out of Vancouver."0Comments | Be the first to comment!
